The Command™ Back to College 2025 Limited Edition Color Collection aims to channel nostalgia with a range of trend-driven hook, clips and caddy hues. The collection aimed to be an eye-catching in-store experience for consumers, for the products, photography and packaging color story stand out on the shelf. This collection was inspired by the “Retrofitted” trend that we were seeing emerge in consumer products in late 2024. Everything from music taste to fashion was starting to integrate vintage elements for added character and to interact with the ever-growing trend of GenZ yearning for the past as a form of escapism.
Our goal for the collection was to embed tiny hints of nostalgia through various hues from the 90s, lollipop flavor inspired color names, and packaging imagery that hints of elements from the 80s to early 2000s that have recently gained popularity amongst Gen Z. The sentiment for this packaging and copywriting was “Stellar color.” We developed a color pallet that appeals to all genders so that various color combinations could be combined to curate a space that feels authentic to you, but also reminiscent of the past.
The packaging design aimed to hold true to the Command™ brand. We kept the full color logo, placement of weight claim, and prominence of applications shots to ease navigation, and keep portfolio consistency.
The wave illustration in the background highlights the retro look and feel while stylized packaging and lifestyle photography incorporates a nostalgic touch, inspires creativity uses of hooks, and calls to the GenZ demographics desire for a blast from the past..
Our team created a packaging architecture with clear hierarchy to aid navigation to key elements, such as weight claim and inspirational application images that are key brand elements across Command™ products.
